I love the Travel Channel. When Zhou and I were planning this trip, I would be sure set my Tivo on it every Wednesday night from 8 to 10pm. That’s when the World Poker Tour was on, and it would give me a break from the strains of watching my then-fiancee plan our lengthy honeymoon. Today, though, I love the Travel Channel for a different reason.
Have any of you ever seen one of the new Travel Channel shows called Real Journeys? I’ll be honest, I had never heard of it before a couple days ago. Each episode consists of two half-hour segments where they follow American travelers on trips to unique places around the world. I looked it up online and saw the latest episode first followed a rich elderly couple to a secluded resort in Fiji and then then, in contrast, followed two female backpackers through central Laos.
Ok, I’ll just get to it now – two days ago we were contacted by a representative from the show, and after an interview over Skype, they want to tape us traveling through Bolivia! Apparently they got a hold of our blog somehow and thought we sounded interesting enough to hold the public’s attention for a half hour, so if all goes well we’ll be featured on the show next year!
In order to avoid bragging about this in new posts on the blog all the time, we’ll be leaving all follow-up updates in the comments section of this post. We look forward to keeping you posted! (In the meantime, don’t tell anyone. This will be our little secret.)
