December 10 – 15
Petronas Towers (6.5/10): The construction of the Sky Bridge is interesting, but in the end the viewpoint from the bridge is not all that high.
Batu Caves (6.5/10): Impressive caves infested with monkeys and roosters and guarded by a giant golden statue of Lord Murugan, god of war.
Times Square (7.5/10): One of KL’s many humongous malls, this one complete with a indoor theme park and a nice sit-down Papa John’s!
Central Market (7/10): Merchandise much more expensive than we would have thought, but a good variety of things to buy.
Lake Gardens (7/10): Fun lake to walk around, with sights such as the deer and mousedeer park, the sculpture gardens and the National Monument.
Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (7/10): Enjoyed the experience of buying cheap formal shoes and dressing up for the orchestra, although the pop singers that sang were just ok.
Scootering on Penang (8/10): Scootering around anywhere is always fun, but Kevin was never as stressed as when he was trying to navigate the crowded streets without any insurance on the bike.
Penang Hill (2.5/10): Oppressively hot, ridiculously long and in general terrible funicular train to the top of a hill that wasn’t all that scenic.
Snake Temple (6/10): Fun to see all the poisonous snakes lying around without cages, even though we found out they had been devenomed just in case.
